Cool game! I just want to warn you that using the red cross in video games is technically a violation of the geneva convention, so you should probably change the symbol (this is a great example: https://www.thegamer.com/among-us-changed-medbay-cross-violated-geneva-convnetio...).
Thanks! And about the red cross thing - If I ever pick up development on this game to bring it to a full release, I'll have to change that. Thanks for the heads up
I love this game! There are for sure not enough games about being a war medic. I know that this is a prototype, but I have some suggestions if you still plan on giving this game some more work:
-The enemy models look too futuristic, while the teammates look ww2 styled. I like the ww2 style of the teammates, the enemies should look like ww2 German infantry.
-If the game is given more levels, you should have more teammates to take care over, and enemies should spawn with their own medics.
-If you press use medpack you should hold the medpack out instead of just instantly using it so that way you can use the medpack on a specific unit and not just a AOE instant heal (I assume that's what it is)
-Enemies should not target you and should only target your allies. You can still get hit if you walk infront of enemies but they shouldn't target you because you have the red cross insignia, making it a war crime to shoot at the player.
-Realistically, medics in ww2 did not have any command authority over other infantry units. So to change it up, the soldiers should try and "capture" the flags and then move forwards automatically. Maybe like "Press X to start" at the start of the level to begin, but the soldiers move automatically after that.
-Variations in friendly units, like support with LMGS or officers with pistols or SMGs, etc etc.
Just some ideas, I love the concept and hope that more is added to it. Thanks for the experience!
This is some really good feedback! The build for the jam was pretty bare bones due to the time constraint of the jam, but I had a bunch of extra ideas i wanted to try out with this game concept as well. I'm thinking of updating it further to get a more complete game and then I'll see where it goes. Thanks for playing!
